Best EDM Tech. Co., Ltd. was founded in 1988; backed by founder M.C. Wang’s more than three decades of manufacturing experience, the firm has become one of Taiwan’s most sophisticated manufacturers of electric discharge machines (EDMs) and tire mold-forming EDMs equipped with self-developed rotary tables. The firm has also started to develop machines with a round-type 4th axis, such as CNC machines, engraving machines, grinding machines, and deep-hole drilling machines.
The firm’s tire mold EDM is designed especially for roller molding and is equipped with an advanced rotary table to enhance non-stop machining, with segmentation precision up to 1/1000 degree thanks to R-axis control by microcomputer.
In addition, Best’s twin-head EDM has a rotatable valve and safety switch to meet high operating safety requirements, and is made by FC-35 casting to ensure durability and avoid deformation. The machine’s X, Y, and Z axes are equipped with high-precision ball screws and, with the addition of servo motors and controllers, it becomes automated equipment. The machine’s electrical box uses a CPU 8051 for improved stability.
Best’s insistence on product quality has won it CE and ISO9001:2000 certification. The firm claims that 90% of Taiwan’s tire molding manufacturers have adopted its tire mold EDMs, one of which is the internationally reputed Cheng Shin Tire. The firm boasts NT$100 million (US$3.33 million) in annual revenues and exports 50% of its output.
